So President Obama is picking FSU over UW. Meh. I console myself with the fact that he probably did it because Florida has more electoral votes than Wisconsin. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that FSU was recently in the ACC title game, while UW flamed out of the first round of the Big Ten tourney.
But this got me wondering whether there was a political slant to any of his picks. So I did a little lookin' at his first round games, in which he picks three legitimate upsets (10 seed or lower winning). It turns out that two of them are swing states defeating "solid" red or blue states, while the third is blue vs. blue. Definitely politically motivated. And he has UNC winning the whole thing - another swing state!
Just sayin'.
