The testosterone rises

A couple little pick-me-ups for all you grandpas and dads out there.

Lately, Asher has taken to bringing "weapons" with him to bed. They are mostly parts from his Transformers, so not dangerous, but they are weapons nonetheless. This is because, as Matt and Asher say (Matt with a twinkle in his eye), "You never know when you may need a weapon."

Another vignette... In case you don't know, Asher and Lydia are going to a school that is still under construction. They've done a pretty good job of keeping it safe for the kids, sectioning off the parts that are done from the parts they're still working on. In any case, though, you can see all the construction equipment as you walk to the kids' classrooms. Today, as I was getting Caleb and Faith out of the car to pick up Lydia for lunch, Caleb saw a digger working. He was watching intently, quite transfixed, and then, with no other prompting, I hear him make a sound very similar to Tim Allen in Home Improvement. Of course, it was a 2-year-old version, so he sounded more like a monkey than a macho man, but it was most certainly a grunt!

Ahhh, the joys of boyhood.
